I like it for its ' dark , thic k, &quo t;Cul du Sac& ;quot; psycho logy but i t is certainl y not for ev eryone f or that v ery reason. S et in isolated , rural France makes this film all the more despe rate. Th e film is abo ut strenuo us relationship s, loyalty - and des pair. It is abou t accepting har dships without really underst anding them. I t is al so about pity and how it is to be distingu ished fro m love a nd admirati on. I'v e seen ma ny Fren ch film s with the sa me intensity a nd I& ;#39;m guessi ng that it will be mostl y the Frenc h who will en joy this film. The acting i s superb in th is film – if you&# 39;re in th e right state of mind and d on&# 39;t loose y our concen tration. Jean- Fran?ois Stevenin ALWAY S impresses me . He do esn& ;#39;t disapp oint me here either. For ge neral audie nces, however , I&#39 ;d recomm end his perfo rmance in &quot ;Deux Lions a u Soleil&qu ot; whi ch is much m ore easily pala table than & ;quot;Peux de Vaches&quo t;.
